Preservation Intern
Historic Charleston Foundation (HCF) is seeking 1–2 interns to work within its Preservation Department for Fall 2026. Interns will work on a variety of tasks and projects; projects tend to vary from year to year but usually include assisting with the Foundation's Covenant and Easement Program, conducting archival research on historic properties and topics, and working on survey and documentation of historic properties. Interns may have the opportunity to work with other departments or projects as needed.

Curator of Education and Public History
HCF is seeking a full-time Curator of Education and Public History to support its historic house museums and mission-driven work. The Curator of Education and Public History is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all educational programming and public history initiatives across HCF’s two house museums. This position advances the Foundation’s mission to tell the full, inclusive history of both sites — centering the experiences of the enslaved alongside those of the propertied elite — through engaging, rigorous, and accessible programs for diverse audiences including K–12 students, university groups, adult learners, and the general public.

Chief Philanthropy Officer
HCF is seeking a full-time Chief Philanthropy Officer to support its philanthropy department and mission-driven work. The Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) is accountable for the overall management and success of a well-rounded Philanthropy Department that addresses all private fundraising (annual, major, planned), fundraising related events and sponsorships, grants, and volunteer engagement. The successful candidate will collaborate with the CEO, executive team, volunteer committees, and the Board of Trustees to plan and execute resource development strategies and measure performance against goals. The ideal candidate will partner with colleagues, community groups, and other stakeholders, lead complex projects, and serve as the organization’s champion among key donor constituencies. The Chief Philanthropy Officer reports directly to the President & CEO.
