Description

Two photographs of 42 Meeting Street (Diedrich Ohlandt House / Ohlandt's Grocery), both reprints of original photographs at the Charleston Museum. Corner view of house showing the west (front) and north elevations. Also shows the street corner (Meeting and Water Streets).

Photo a: D.W. Ohlandt's Family Grocery, ca. 1900. Stacked barrels on sidewalk. Men standing around. Horse-drawn and mule-drawn carts on street.

Photo b: Ca. 1950 view by Louis Schwartz. Advertisements for "Kraft Foods" and "Kraft Mayonnaise" can be seen in the front window. Streetlight hangs at the upper left.
