July 27, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Colonial Cocktails is back for the summer! This summer series is highlighting one of Colonial Charleston’s favorite spirits, sponsored by the oldest rum distillery in the world. For July’s Colonial Cocktails – let the recipes be-GIN with gin!

Carin Bloom, Historic Charleston Foundation’s Manager of Education, will be demonstrating a variety of historically inspired cocktail recipes featuring several types of Mount Gay Gin. While you enjoy the historic drink recipe, Carin Bloom will be diving deeper into history (and early popularity) of gin dating back to the late 18th century. Each guest will receive a welcome drink, two generous drink samples, and additional rum and gin samples from a Mount Gay representative. Join us for this colonial inspired happy hour at the historic Capt. James Missroon House, overlooking the Charleston battery, and surprise guests with your new recipes the next time you’re serving drinks!

Light snacks will be provided. Registration is required and space is limited. Participants must be 21+.

This event is sponsored by Mount Gay, the oldest rum distillery in the world dating back to 1703. A representative from Mount Gay will be accompany Carin and will be on hand after the event to offer complimentary rum or gin samples and answer questions about the brand’s rich heritage. Please arrive promptly by 5:30 pm. Please be aware that some of the drink recipes have unusual ingredients, and we cannot make adjustments for dietary restrictions. Colonial Cocktail Summer Series dates: June 29 (Rum!) and August 31 (Rum!)

The Colonial Cocktails Summer Series is sponsored by Mount Gay. All gin and rum are provided by Mount Gay.
