Award Ceremony, 2022 Charter Day

Historic Charleston Foundation will host its annual Charter Day celebration to honor organizations, individuals, and other entities that have made extraordinary contributions toward protecting Charleston’s irreplaceable historic buildings, neighborhoods, and other special sites. Please join us in honoring those whose work and vision have impacted the preservation of the Lowcountry’s historical, architectural, and cultural legacy, as well as made significant contributions to the future of our vibrant community.
The Charter Day Awards Ceremony will be held at First Baptist Church, 61 Church Street. At this ceremony, the community is welcome to join us in honoring this year’s award winners! Awards given at Charter Day include The Samuel Stoney Conservation Craftsmanship Awards, The Robert NS & Patti Foos Whitelaw Founders Award, as well as the Frances R. Edmunds Award, named for our founder. Additionally, this year HCF is excited to introduce a new award category focused on advocacy, community preservation and planning, named for Joseph H. (Peter) McGee, past HCF Chairman and notable preservation advocate. The ceremony will begin at 6pm, and a reception will follow the ceremony in the garden of the Nathaniel Russell House, 51 Meeting Street, at approximately 7:15PM. Limited parking is available at 48 Meeting Street. RSVP requested.
