Scenes at the Intersection of East Bay and Calhoun Streets

Description

Two color slides featuring scenes on East Bay Street at the Calhoun Street intersection:

a: View of the Pure Service Station at 474 East Bay Street photographed from behind a building being demolished, probably 41 Calhoun Street (SE corner of Calhoun and East Bay). Houses in view at the right are probably 40 Calhoun Street and the edge of 38 Calhoun Street.* Slide stamped June [19]64.

b: View of East Bay Street looking north from Calhoun Street. Features Radio Laboratories (475 East Bay) and the WCSC station and tower (485 East Bay) at left, and Crispy's Chicken & Fixins (476 East Bay) and Wulbern Koval Office Supplies (478 East Bay) at right. Slide stamped Mar [19]79.

*Note: 40 Calhoun was moved to 315 East Bay Street and 38 Calhoun was moved to 317 East Bay, becoming its rear building, oriented on George Street.
