Description

Three photographs of the Miles Brewton House [27 King Street]. Part of a collection entitled "Views of colonial buildings, Charleston SC," presumably created by the South Carolina Society of Colonial Dames.

2005.004.019: Front (east) elevation taken from across the street. Captioned: "#5 Residence of Miles Brewton Esq. merchant 27 King Street mentioned in Josiah Quincy's journal of trip to the southern colonies."

2005.004.020: Drawing room. Captioned: #6 Drawing room and furniture in Brewton dwelling. It has been occupied for over fifty years by the Pringle family."

2005.004.021: Drawing room fireplace. Captioned: "#7 Mantelpiece in drawing room. Brewton dwelling."

Photos measure 9½" x 7½"; matted to a total dimension of 12" x 10". Photographer/studio stamp on back of matte.
