Idle Hour Restaurant - 1067 King Street, Charleston, S.C.

Description

"Natural Color" postcard featuring the Idle Hour Restaurant, which was located at 1067 King Street. Sign for Coca-Cola and "fried chicken" mounted over the front of the building. Restaurant sign installed on the sidewalk.

Caption on back of postcard: "Idle Hour Restaurant -- Established Nov. 1, 1939 -- Now Famous for 'Carolina's Best Fried Chicken'."

Constructed in 1939 when the restaurant was established. Demolished in the 1960s. Now the site of the John L. Dart Library.
