FOOD FOR THOUGHT LUNCHEON LECTURE (IN PERSON)

Coffee drinking is mainstream and ubiquitous in 2021.  Over 150 million Americans describe themselves as daily coffee drinkers.  Not too long ago, coffee drinking was considered a dangerous health risk and there were serious attempts to wean Americans from their caffeine addiction.  Today, there are over 14,000 Starbucks locations in the United States.  Join Dr. Paul Roof, Assistant Professor & Sociology Coordinator at South Carolina State University to learn the local history of coffee and the different claims and makers involved in the coffee debate.
