Families and explorers under the age of 10 (with a guardian!) are invited to join Naturalist Andrew Shuler for an expedition around the Nathaniel Russell House gardens and landscape! Borrow bug-catching nets and sketching supplies and take a closer look at some of the flora and fauna present in historic gardens downtown. Visitors will catch some insects and have the chance to make a drawing before releasing them back into their habitat. Andrew will also discuss some famous historical naturalists of the 18th and early 19th centuries. Don’t bug out too soon – participants can take home their sketch as a souvenir of their adventure! Water and lemonade will be available to keep everyone hydrated.
A selection of items from Shop Historic Charleston will be available – all participating families can receive 10% off their Shop Purchase at the Nathaniel Russell House that day for participating.
