Aiken-Rhett House Museum Family Tours

Step back in time with the whole family at the Aiken-Rhett house museum.

Each Tuesday and Thursday in July, you and your family can explore the Aiken-Rhett House Museum, c. 1820, to discover how people lived in 19th century Charleston. The un-restored house, preserved "as found," allows families to feel as if they are unlocking the past together. Learn about all the people who lived and labored on this expansive property, which includes intact dependency buildings and slave quarters. There is a thirty-minute guided tour for the whole family. Then children are invited into the courtyard for hands-on activities.
