Basket Weaver Notecards
Enslaved people in Charleston made numerous contributions to the cultural character of the city, not the least of which are the sturdy sweetgrass baskets recognized today as an art form with some even on display at the Smithsonian. Basket weavers are a common sight at the City Market and near the Four Corners of Law where they use generations-old techniques to create masterful art pieces. South Carolina artist Jane Jackson, known for her watercolor Glicee prints, has captured the iconic scene with her Basket Weaver print.
