This English commode is adapted from a c.1780 original in the collection of Middleton Place plantation, near Charleston. The top features mahogany and satinwood inlays placed over three inlaid panel doors. The center door conceals a middle-fixed shelf above the demi-lune base which is supported by tapered legs.
