St. Philip's Church (146 Church Street)

Description

St. Philip's Church (146 Church Street) under repair and being painted. Steeple is surrounded by scaffolding and ladders are propped against the building. Workmen are seated on scaffolding and others are standing nearby. Sign for J.O. Gurdimeer, Painter, 154 King Street is on gate. Cemetery in foreground; gravestones visible. Handwritten back of matte:

During Earthquake 1886 the church was almost

demolished and rebuilt

1908 Church thoroughly repaired painted with (?)

(?) decorations at a cost of $20000.00
