Granville Bastion Under Missroon House

Description

Ten photographs of the north side of the exposed wall of the Granville Bastion underneath the Missroon House (40 East Bay Street).

Granville Bastion... "was the fortification that formed the southeast corner of the original line of military works that completely surrounded the settlement of 1680 on Oyster Point" (now known as White Point Gardens or the Battery).

Color photographs (similar views, if not the identical photos) may be found in EASTBAY.040.18 (photos of the renovation of the Missroon House).
